Incheon Airport to Seoul by AREX: Express vs All-Stop Train (2026 Guide)
The Airport Railroad (AREX) links Incheon International Airport with Seoul Station. It runs two services: a non-stop Express Train and an All-Stop (general) train that also serves Gimpo Airport, Hongik Univ. (Hongdae), Gongdeok and more.
Express Train (non-stop)
- Route: Incheon Airport T2 → T1 → Seoul Station, no stops in between.
- Travel time: 43 min from Terminal 1, 51 min from Terminal 2 to Seoul Station.
- Fare listed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government: ₩13,000 one-way.
- Frequency: every 20–40 minutes. On the official weekday timetable the first train leaves T2 at 05:15 (T1 05:23) and the last leaves T2 at 22:40 (T1 22:48).
- You need a separate Express ticket bought before boarding (ticket booths: B1F Transportation Center at T1 and T2, B2F at Seoul Station).
All-Stop Train
- About 59 min from T1 and 66 min from T2 to Seoul Station (some trains take 2–6 min longer).
- Fare ₩4,150–4,750 one-way, paid with a transit card (T-money etc.) or a single-journey ticket from station machines.
- Runs every 5–10 minutes, roughly 5:30 AM to midnight (varies by station).
- Best if your hotel is near Hongdae, Gongdeok, Magongnaru or Gimpo Airport — you can transfer to Seoul subway lines on the way.
Which one should you take?
Take the Express if you are staying near Seoul Station (KTX, Line 1, Line 4) and want a guaranteed seat with no stops. Take the All-Stop train if you're headed to Hongdae or another stop along the line, or want the lowest fare.
